Churchill always belived that Britain should be on the forefront of world political decision making

This meant two things: 

Firstly, he dramatised the war. He made it into a fight between the Christian Democracies (allied powers) and the dark forces of Nazism. This can often be seen in the provenance of his speeches, often being style over substance and filled with rhetoric.
