BREWING

Alcohol is distilled off the fermentation liquid to produce a spirit with a higher alcohol content.

Alcohol is toxic, so fermentation will eventually kill off the yeast. Each brand has their own species of yeast, which die at different alcohol contents.

Process of making alcohol:

  • Malting: barley seeds
