BOWLBY

-> Evolved a biological need to attach to main care-giver.

-> Adaptive behaviour=montropy (attaching to one person).

-> Survival value-food and protection.

-> Instinctive, used as a template for future relationships.

-> 'Safe base' - confidence to explore our environment.

-> Social releasers = cute instinctive behaviours, encouraging attention, releases instinctive parenting behaviour = attachment.

-> Sensitive period = 2 years, after attachment may not form.

-> Internal working
