Border disputes

Vilna, 1920- Poland & Lithuania 2 new states created by post war treaties (both in league). Vilna made capital of Lithuania of -> poulation mainly Polish. In 1920 private Polish army took control of it. Lithuania appealed for help, League protested to Poland, Poland didn't withdraw. League stuck - could send British & French troops to force the poles out of Vilna , but French didn't want to upset Poland - possible ally against Germany in future, Britain didn't want to act…
