The Great Boer War: 1899-1902

Causes: There are several reasons why the Boer War occured. The Boers were a group of people descended from dtuch settlers in south africa. Britain had taken this area of land as part of their empire, mainly due to the high levels of gold and diamonds present. One of the problems was that there was conflict between the British and the Boers over whose land it was.
