Bloody Sunday Jan 1905
- The Priest Father Gapon started a procession of the unemployed and disgruntled St Petersburg workers who were anxious for jobs, decent wages and shorter working hours. This was not a spontaneous strike.
The Plan
The plan was to hand a petition to their 'little father' Tsar Nicholas II, the protestors had absolute faith in the Tsar to solve their problems.
In total about 150,000 protestors including many women and children joined the demonstration.
