A tropism is either Positive, Negative in relation to phototropisms and geotropism.
Define: Tropism - is a growth in the plant in response to a stimulus.
- A positive phototropism means that the stem tip of the plant will grow towards the light. Therefore meaning that the plant will recieve maximum light for photosynthesis.
- A negative phototropism means that the root tip will grow away from the light meaning that the plant has a lower chance of drying out.
