The Nervous System
Definitions:
· Stimulus: a change in your environment that you may need to react to. E.g. light, sound, pressure, touch, chemical, change in position or temperature.
· Sense organs: the different organs you need to sense! E.g. eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin.
· Receptors: groups of cells that are sensitive to a stimulus, and change stimulus energy (for example, light energy) into electrical impulses.
· Sensory Neurones: the nerve cells that carry signals (electrical impulses) from the receptors in the sense organs…
