Hormones in the Menstrual Cycle 

FSH

  • produced in the PITUITARY GLAND 
  • causes an egg to be matured
  • stimulates production of Oestrogen 

Oestrogen 

  • produced in the OVARIES 
  • thickens the lining of the womb/uterus 
  • inhibits production if FSH
  • stimulates LH 

LH

  • produced in the PITUITARY GLAND 
  • releases the egg
