Biology - Cell membranes.

HideShow resource information

The fluid mosaic model.

- This was used to describe the arrangment of molecules in the membrane.

- In the model, phospholipid molecules form a continuous double layer.

- Cholesterol, protein molecules, are scattered through the bilayer.

- Intrinsic membrane proteins - Occupy entire width of membrane, act as protein channels.

- Extrinsic membrane proteins - are embedded in the outer phospholipid bilayer - act as chemical receptors.

The Phospholipids.

- Phospholipid…

mistake : its glycolipid that is a carbohydrate attached to a phospholipid

other than that it really helped :D
