Osmosis is a special case of diffusion
Define: Osmosis is the movement of water molecules across a partially permeable membrane from a reigon of high water concentration to a region of low water concentration
- a 'partially permeable' membrane is one with very small holes in it. So only small moleclues like water can pass through.
- The water molecules actually pass both ways, through the membrane during osmosis..
-Because there are more water molecules on one side, theres a steady flow of water into the reigon with fewer water molecules.
-This means the strong sugar solution…
