For a balanced diet you need 7 nutrients in the right proportions.

Carbohydrates and fats for energy

Protein for growth and repair

Vitamins and minerals to avoid deficiencies of them

Roughage or fibre to avoid constipation

And water for transporting things around your body in

A measure of how healthy you are is the BMI index; this is mass in kilograms divided by height in metres, squared.

Anywhere between 20 and 25 is perfect less than 20 is underweight, between 25 and 30, you need to be careful, and above 30
