Photosynthesis - is the process by which green plants makes their own food. During the process, light energy is converted to chemical energy. The end product of photosynthesis is glucose.
Respiration - is the process by which all organisms release energy from food.
At night, plants respire only and give out carbon dioxide.
Enzymes - are chemicals that speed up the rate of chemical reactions.
-Enzymes are proteins. They consists of long chains of amino acid joined together.
-The chemicals that enzymes work on are called substrates.
-The chemicals produced in the reaction are called products.
The body temperature of mammals and birds is around 37c. This is the optimum temperature of most enzymes.
As the temperature is increased, enzyme activity increases because the reaction rate increases.
