Biological Molecules

Biological molecules in animals

Carbohydrates - Sugar (Glucose) stored in the form of glycogen in animals’ body. Main support of energy in respirations both anaerobic and aerobic.

Lipids - Big food molecules made from fatty acids and glycerol. Act as a store for energy.

Protein - Big food molecules that are made from amino acids. Help the body to repair itself and build muscles, also acts as an emergency energy source.

Enzymes

Amylase - Enzyme used to break down sugars (breaking down starch into maltose). Enzyme secreted during ingestion (the mechanical break down of food in the mouth)

Lipase - Enzyme that…
