Lipids- A type of macromolecule that contain the chemical elements carbon, hydrogen and oxygen.There are three types:

Triglycerides

Triglycerides havce one molecule of glycerol with three fatty acid tails attached to it. They have an ester bond between each fatty acid tail and the glycerol molecule. Ester bonds are formed by a condensation reaction called esterification. Fatty acid have long tails that are made of hydrocabons. The tails are hydrophobic which makes them insoluble in water.
