There are two types of digetsion in the digestive system, the first is physical digestion, this is when you are chewing the food, the second type of digestion is chemical digestion, this mainly happens in your stomach but it can happen when food is in the mouth.

When food is in your mouth, both physical and chemical digestion occurs. physical digestion is when the food is being chewed up, and chemical digestion happens in your mouth because of your saliva.
