Animal cell structure:
- Cell surafce membrane
- Rough endoplasmic reticulum (RER)
- Nucleolus
- Nucleus
- Smooth endoplasmic reticulum (SER)
- Mitochondria
- Cytoplasm
- Gologi apparatus
- Nuclear envelope
- Ribosome
- Lysosome
Plant cell structure: (everything everything the same as an animal aprat from lysosomes)
- chloroplasts
- Plasmodesmata
- Vacuole
Function of organelles:
Plasma membrane- Regulates movement of substances in and out of a cell. Also has receptor molecules which allow response to chemicals e.g. hormones.
Cell wall- Supports plant cells.
Nucleus- Contains DNA which are instructions to make protiens. The pores allow for substances to move in and out of the cytoplasm. Nucleolus maks ribosomes.
Lysosome- Contains digestive enzymes.
Rough endoplasmici reticulum (RER)- Folds and processes proteins that have been made at the ribosomes.
Smooth endoplasmic reticulum (SER)- Synthesises and processes lipids.
Vesicle- Transports substances…
