Magnification:
This is how much bigger the image is than the sample.
Resoloution:
This is how well a microscope can distinguish between two points that are close together.
Formula & units:
Maginification = Image size/Object size
Milimeter(mm) = 1mm X 1000 = Micrometer(μm) = 0.001mm x1000 = Nanometer(nm) = 0.000001mm
Type of microscope:
light microscope- They have a lower resolution than electron microscopes and have a maximum resolution of about 0.2 micrometers . Usually used to look at whole cells or tissues and the maxiumum magnification is usually X1500.
