What is biodiversity? 

species diversity the number of different species and the number with in each species 

genetic diversity the range of genes within any one species 

ecosystem the variety of different habitats within any given area 

the ecosystem is diviede into:

abiotic factor- the non living chemical components such as soil PH and temperature 

Biotic factor- all living components and their interactions with each other which may lead to competition between food,space and mates.

How can biodiversity be measured?

 There are number of factors that need to be considered for example :

• which species are present in a given area at a time
• how much of each species there is (abundance) in this given area and time
• the distribution of each species in the area at the time
