  • more and more people were crossing the Iron Curtain to get into the west Berlin
  • by 1958, Khrushchev decided that it was time action was taken so he sent a ultimatum to the west calling for the removal of all occupying forces within the country
  • Khrushchev wanted Berlin to become a free city with the existence of east Germany recognised…
