Benefits of Taking Part in Physical Activity

1.) To Increase Fitness

Exercise, training, and taking part in physical exercise can increase fitness. A programme of planned, well thought-out exercises, resistance training and playing sport is a good way to achieve this. Muscles can be strengthened and made more flexible, becoming more toned in the process. 

2.) To Help the Individual Feel Good

Believe it or not - exercise actually makes individuals feel good. Taking part in exercise produces serotonin (the 'feel good' hormone) in the body so it is not just beneficial for the heart and lungs, but also for the mind. Studies have shown that people with low self-esteem can feel better about themselves as they slim down and trim up. 

3.) To Relieve Stress and Tension

Physical activites can provide a distraction from the problems of daily life, and can relieve stress and tension caused by work, school, and family pressures. Although exercise cannot solve problems,
