psychologist: Alan Baddeley
aim: to see if there was a difference in the type of encoding used in short and long term memory
method: 1. there were 4 gorups of participants (A,B,C,D)
2. each group was given a different list of 5 words ( some of the words sounded similar e.g. had similar letterings or meanings whereas other words were random)
3. Group A heard the set of words 12 times and after every 5 words they were asked to recall them in th eorder they heard. ( they were given a card with the words on it , the emphasis was…
