Aerobic Respiration
Energy needed for all life processes in plants and animals is provided by respiration. Life processes like muscle contraction, protein synthesis and temperature control in mammals uses energy produced by respiration.
Aerobic respiration is the release of energy from glucose in the prescence of oxygen.
glucose + oxygen --> carbon dioxide +water+ energy released
C6H12 O6 + 6O2 à 6CO2 + 6H20 + energy released
It takes place inside all cells. During excercise, muscles emance more enrgy so respiration must happen faster to release more energy. Breathing and pulse rate increase to deliver more oxygen and glucose to muscles more quickly and remove carbon dioxde just as quick.
