B2 Enzymes

Enzymes are catalysts produced by living things. A catalyst is a substance that increases the speed of a reaction without being used up or changed in a reaction. Enzymes reduce the need for high temperature and enzymes only catalyse useful reactions in the body.

Enzymes are made up of different proteins but they all work in the same way to catalyse various reactions. 

They work inside and outside of cells:

DNA replication- Enzymes help copy a cell's DNA before it gets divided up by mitosis and meiosis.
