B2 - The Carbon Cycle

Before I begin to explain the stages of the carbon cycle, here is an image to help you visualise it.

The carbon cycle depends on photosynthesis; you can see this from the diagram because there is only one arrow going down. The act of photosynthesis turns the carbon from the CO2 in the air, to sugars that the plant can use.
