B1: Biological Classification

HideShow resource information

Organisms are classified into groups so that scientists from around the world can communicate about living organisms. First part of the name is the genus that the organism belongs to. Second part of the name is the species

KNOW TWO DIFFERENT ORGANISMS:

  • Salamandra salamandra
  • Chameleo chameleon

Dichotomus Key

  • short legs
  • long legs

Not a good combination because you may think the legs are long, but the person who wrote it may have thought it was short.

FIVE MAIN CLASSES OF VERTEBRAE: Fish

  • body covered by scales
  • fins to move and balance
