Active transport- the process where dissolved molecules move across a cell membrane from a lower to a higher concentration, particles move against the concentration gradient.
Root hair cells
- The concentration of minerals is usually higher in the root hair cell than in the soil around them so the cell can't use diffusion to take up minerals from the soil
