ATP Synthesis

  • Glucose is broken down in respiration. 
  • This releases energy which is then used to make ATP (from adenine, ribose and 3 phosphate groups).
  • In order for ATP to be made, ADP and a phosphate group join.
  • The enzyme ATP synthase catalyses this reaction. 
  • The energy is stored
