Atomic Structure

Atoms contain three particles

• Protons (+ charge)
• Electrons (- charge)
• Neutrons (neutral charge 0)

The protons and neutrons are found in the nucleus in the centre of the atom and the electrons are found floating around in energy shells around the nucleus.
