OPTICAL AND TRUE BINARIES:
A binary star is a pair of stars that appear close to each other in the sky. There are two types of binaries:
optical doubles and true binaries.
Optical doubles are not actually together, but appear so from our line of sight from here on planet earth. The majority fall into this category.
