Asthma is an inflammatory disorder of the uper airway affecting the larynx, trachea and both lungs. Once a trigger of asthma enters the body such as smoke, pollen, dust etc, the body releases an IgE response of histamine and intracellular chemical mediators which causes inflammation leading to airway odema and bronchiospasm. 

Signs and symptoms of asthma inlcude: Tightness of chest, Cough at night or after excercise, Being short of breath and Expratory wheeze.
