Asclepius = God of healing

 - Spiritual/supernatural approach to medicine was followed by the cult of Asclepius. 

 - His temples are called Asclepions and people went to them if they were feeling ill.

 - The cult was most popular during the 5th and 4th centuries BC.


 - Visitors to Asclepions were expected to undergo ceremonial washing in the sea, make a sacrifice to God and sleep in an abaton.
