Lab experiment. Using a line judgement test he put a naive participant in a room with 7 confederates. The confederates had agreed in advance to what their responses would be, the real participant did not know this and was led to believe the other 7 participants were real.

Each person had to state aloud which comparison line was most like the target line. The answer was always obvious and the real participant sat at the end…
