There are three main methods for artificial vegetative propagation:
Taking cuttings
A stem is first cut between two nodes and then treated with plant hormones to encourage root growth before it is planted.
Grafting
The shoot of a woody plant is joined to the stem of a plant which is already growing (This is known as rootstock).
Using a tissue culture- LARGE SCALE CLONING -Micropropagation
