Art Deco bag requirements

?

Here is a list of things you should include to get top marks in section A of your textiles exam. I have written them mostly in the form of questions so you can answer the questions in your design. Remember, section A is worth 48 marks so you need to do well in it. Good luck! :)

Art Deco Bag

  • At least 1 fastening, more if possible to show skills and knowledge:
    • Velcro
    • Zip
    • Poppers
    • Hook and eye
    • Press studs
    • Buttons and button holes
    • Buckle
    • Lace/ Ribbon
  • Straps/handles:
    • Are they adjustable for a longer life?
    • Are they padded or stuffed for ease of use?
    • How have they been reinforced to hold the weight of the bag? Double layers of stitching? Doubled fabric?
  • Is it 2D or 3D?
  • Pockets:
    • Patch or 3D?
    • How many?
    • Inside and/or outside?
    • Fastened? If they are, they will need a single hem. If not, a double hem.
  • Decoration:

Thanks :) erm, there was an 8mk question on cadcam, quite a few questions on environment and sustainability. There was a question on describe a decorative technique, I think it was applique, and there were a few questions on matching materials to uses. I can't remember much else, but I'll let you know if I do :)

Apparently my friend says there's a question on taking ideas from the existing coat? What was this question asking and what could you write? :)

I think it was fur or something like that, and I honestly can't be sure but maybe you had to decide what features were good? I think it asked you what material you could use which is more sustainable, but I can't remember :/ sorry :)

I've had a look for the paper but it's not available for students yet, only teachers, because AQA know it will be used for mocks, sorry :(
