Surds
Roots of non-square numbers are called SURDS.
√a x √b = √ab
√a /√b = √a /√b x √b /√b (times by denominator to get rid of root on bottom of fraction)
a√c + b√c = a+b√c
a√c - b√c = a-b√c
e.g
√32 = √16 x √2
4 x √2
= 4√2
e.g
2√48 + 3√12
= 2√16x3 + 3√4x3
= 2x4√3 + 3x2√3
=…
