- All substances are made of atoms. They are really tiny - too small to see, even with a microscope. They are so small, that a 50p coin contains 77,400,000,000,000,000,000,000 of them, which is quite a lot.
- Atoms have a radius of about 0.1 nanometres (which is 0.00000000001 meters).
