pathogens become resistant to an antiobiotic if you always prescribe them too much  this is why you should follow the course and an antibiotic must be prescribed by a doctor. you must prescribe antibiotics from the doctor in case you have an infection which isn't critical such as a mild throat infection you will not be given the antibiotic. the doctor doesn't prescribe you with antibiotics for minor infections because fewer resistant strains will develop.

you must remember that pain killers (anti-inflammotary) only relieve the symptoms of the disease and antiobiotics kill bacteria.
