Quantitative data - numerical data
Qualitative data - anything not in numerical form , cannot be counted or summarised.
-Qualitative data is difficult to summarise. Quantitative can be summarised with central tendecy ad dispersion as well as being presented on graphs. These forms of representation are not possible with descriptions so therefore must be summarised by identifying repeated themes.
-Most qualitative analysis aims to be indicutive so the categories that emerge are based in the data. Therefore these lead to new theories.
