Fission
Powers nucleur subs and power-stations.
In Reactor:
Chain reaction nuclei split, release energy as heat.
Heat used to heat water in steam turbine.
Fuel usually Uranium-235 and Plutonium-239
Slow moving neutron absorbed by fuel: nucleus splits giving out 2/3 neutrons.
Neutrons hit other nuclei which split and keep chain reaction going.
When large atom splits - forms 2 new lighter elements - radioactive becuase have different No. of neutrons so nucleur power produces huge amounts of nucleur material.
Disposal is hard and costs a lot
