1462- Joanna la Beltraneja, daughter of Henry VI was born. The Archbishops of Toledo -Carillo- and Seville claimed immediately that she was illegitimate.

1464- Henry VI sacked his principle minister the Marquis of Villena,a man with financial and military strength, and replaced him with Beltran de la Cueva. BAD MOVE.

1465- Heny VI was ceremonially deposed by the senior nobiltiy of Castille and Alfonso was pronounced king. This coup was known as the Farce of Avila.

1468- Alfonso, who had been controlled by the Marquis and Carillo, died of plague.

1468- Marquis of Villena was recalled to government office. Isabella, Henry Vi's stepsister was recognised as the heir to Castille instead of Joanna la Beltraneja.

October 1469- Ferdinand, father of 2 and therefore virile and potent, met and married Isabella in the same day. Ferdinand was 17, Isabella 18. The Marquis then changed his opinion of the rightful heir of Castille back to Joanna la…
