Air Pollution (Sulfur)

Sulfur Pllution Comes from Impurities in Fuels:

1) Many of our fuels are hydrocarbon-based, like petrol and natural gas. Some are carbon-based like coal. These fuels contain loads of impurities as they're extracted straight from the earth's crust.

2) Many of these impurities are fairly harmless but some fuels contain traces of sulfur.

3) When the fuel burns. the sulfur burns too. When sulfur atoms burn, they combine with the oxygen in the air to produce a pollutant called sulfur dioxide.
