CARBON MONOXIDE
- When fossil fuels are burnt without enough oxygen, CO is formed
- If combined with red blood cells, it prevents them from carrying oxygen
- CO is mainly released through car emissions. Most cars are fitted with catalytic converters which convert CO into carbon dioxide, decreasing the amount of CO in the atmosphere
