Air Masses
An air mass is a body of air with horizontally uniform levels of temperature, humidity and pressure.These shall be the same during movement. An air mass is a large volume of air, which travels from one area to another. The weather an air mass brings is determined by the region it has come from and the type of surface it has moved over.
Types of Air Mass
There are 6 types of air mass. They are Arctic Maritime (mA), Arctic Continental (cA), Polar Maritime (mP), Polar Continental (cP), Tropical Maritime (mT) and Tropical Continental (cT).
