Agents of socialisation- Family

Family is the main agent of primary socialisation for most individuals int he contemporary UK. There are three ways fmaily socialises the individuals:

  • The family teaches basic norms and values of everyday life. This is often through when children copy the behaviour of fmaily members or children learn the social roles expected by them by imitating other family memebers. Basic norms such as mealtimes (how to eat food and where) are oassed down
