Aerobic respiration- needs plenty of oxygen.

Anerobic respiration- used if theres not enough oxygen for aerobic

"An" just means "without".

The incomplete breakdown of glucose making lactic acid in muscles causing them to fatiuge.

Glucose is not fully oxidised so does not use as much energy

Anaerobic respiration in plants and yeast cells is slightly different:

Plants and yeast cells respire without oxygen but produce ethanol and CO .

Anaerobic respiration in yeast cells is called fermentation.

In bread making the CO makes the bread rise and in beer making the ethanol makes the drink alcoholic.
