structural adaptations are physical features of an organism that help it survive

behavioural adaptations are the things organisms do to survive

functional adaptations are any changes to the way an organism works that helps it become more favourable to a certain environment

extremophiles: organisms that live in very extreme environments such as high temperature pressure or salt concentration

examples of structural adaptations:

arctic animals eg artic foxes have white fur to camouflage  in the snow-this helps them avoid predators and sneak up on prey

animals that live in hot places have a thin layer of fat and a large surface area to volume ratio to help them lose heat

example of behavioural adaptations:

species eg swallows migrate to warmer climates during the winter…
