Acids, Alkalis and Titration
Strong acids: (e.g. sulphuric, hydrochloric and nitric) ionise almost completely in water. Means almost every hydrogen atom is released to become a hydrated proton: pH 1 or 2
Weak acids: (e.g. ethanoic, citric and carbonic) ionise only slightly. Means only some of the hydrogen atoms in the compound are released: pH 4, 5 or 6
Strong acid: HCl + water…
