a priori and posteriori

?

A Priori Arguments

  • A priori ONTOLOGICAL arguments for the existence of God can be appealing and persuasive, if the reasoning is sound then they can lead us to the certain truth.
  • Mathematics uses a priori reasoning and arrive at certain conclusions.
  • More persuasive, however this reasoning is not appealing to everyone
  • People might want to make more logical steps before commiting themselves to a God who exists through reasoning and (in the ontological argument) through deffinition.

A Posteriori Arguements

  • Only leads to probabilities
  • always
