A balanced diet includes the right portions  of protein, cabrohydrate, vitamins, minerals, fats, calcium, fibre and water. 1/3 of our diet should come from carbohydrates preferably complex carbohydrates (bread, pasta) as they keep us fuller for longer than simple sugars (table sugar, cake). We should eat wholemeal foods such as brown rice because they're high in fibre and keeps our digestive system healthy. 12% of our daily intake should come from proteins. Protein is needed to help growth and repair of muscles. Proteins are made up of amino acids. High biological value foods such as soy, fish, cheese provide us with all of the essential amino acids
